Hey Mic,
Welcome to Ben’s Friends.
Having a family member with a TBI can be a real challenge. Every TBI is different, so trying to draw a direct line between the impairment and the TBI is near on impossible. Two people can have exactly the same impact in exactly the same region but have a vastly differing outcomes. In some cases there can be an almost total personality change and many ongoing issues that can affect every aspect of life.

How do you see the effects in your Aunt Fran?

She has brain surgery from a fall to the head at 4 o’clock in the morning it scared everyone in my family she in the hospital and not doing great anymore

Ohh WOW, so it’s only just occurred?
With the initial injury just occurring, that can be a massive shock to everybody. Depending on the extent of the injury, it can take some time for things to settle enough to be able to see the longer term effects.

At this stage have the dr’s given your family much information regarding their assessment?
